For a long time, people used to put down buying a used car. I used to be one of those people. This was also what has now, ultimately, put me in a less than desirable situation. Like so many other people, I used to think that owning a used car was beneath me. After all, how would the car ever truly be yours if you were just getting someone else's leftovers? There was also the fact that whenever I sat in a used car at a dealership, it always had that smell of someone else. I found it to be incredibly irritating!

Buying a car for the first time can be extremely intimidating if you don't know what you are doing or if you have never bought a car before. If you think that you would like to purchase a new car, the first thing that you should do is find someone who has gone through the car buying experience and who knows what they are doing.

When people are buying a car for the first time, the first thing that catches their attention is the sticker price on the vehicle that is sitting outside in the dealership parking lot. "Oh, I can afford this!" they will exclaim when they see the price. However, the price that you see on the sticker on the vehicle is often just a rough estimate of what you will actually end up paying for the vehicle.

Although it varies from state to state as well as country to country, nothing beats being able to finally drive. I remember watching either one of my parents in fascination when it dawned on me that it was almost my time to shine behind the wheel of either one of my parents' cars.

Everyone has memories about the first car that they ever owned or that their parents, friends or loved ones gave them. For me, my first car was a 2001 Altima that my father bought for me in 2001 when I was in college.

Driving is stressful enough as it is without having to add more pressure to your situation. There are so many things to remember such as when to use your turn signal, when to look over your shoulder, the proper reaction at a four-way stop, etc. These are all things that most of us do without even thinking twice about it, but which can be extremely stressful for someone who is just starting out as a new driver.

I would love nothing more than to be able to trade my car in. On top of that, I would even take it a step further to say that I would not only love to trade my car in, but I would love to trade it in and actually get something back for it that I could then take and apply to whatever next vehicle I was going to purchase. But, alas, this is not going to be a possibility for me because we are currently living in an economic climate that is not really conducive to anyone with a sport utility vehicle trading their car in (unless you count the 'Cash for Clunkers' program).

Getting into a car accident is something that almost all of us will have to experience at some point in our lives. It isn't one of those situations where you look around at other people and think to yourself, "Gee, that will never happen to me…" Rather, it is one of those situations where you wonder when you are going to get into one and what the consequences will be.

There have been times lately when I have almost wished that my car would get stolen so that I would have a great excuse for needing another car. However, after toying with this delightful thought, my dreams were soon crushed by the fact that I am pretty sure that having my car stolen wouldn't mean anything to the car insurance company as I would probably still be responsible for paying some or all of what was previously owed on the vehicle.
